Mariapaola D'Imperio is Professor of Phonetics, Phonology and Prosody at the Department of Linguistics at Aix-Marseille University, CNRS . She is also head of the Prosody Group at the Laboratoire Parole et Langage in Aix-en-Provence, France. Her recent research deals with the study of sarcasm in L1 and L2, the relation between musical skills and word learning and the impact of individual cognitive differences in intonation processing.
Julia Hirschberg is Professor of Computer Science and Chair of the Computer Science Department at Columbia University. She now serves on the IEEE Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee, the Executive Board of the CRA, the AAAI Council, the Executive Board of the NAACL, and the board of the CRA-W. She has been active in working for diversity at AT&T and at Columbia.
José Ignacio Hualde is Professor of Linguistics, Spanish and Portuguese, French, Italian, and Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education at University of Illinois. He is also affiliated with the Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Center for Global Studies and the European Union Center.
